Features of the 2017 Ducati 1299 Superleggera.
The Engine.
This beast is considered to be the most powerful twin-cylinder engine on the market when it comes to street bikes. This 1285 cc engine produces a total of 215 HP at 11,000 rpm. That is raw power to serve your adrenaline addiction.
Dimensional & Material Improvements have been made to the engine; this includes larger valve diameter, new camshafts and using titanium for weight reduction purposes. The cylinder heads have larger ducts, and the new pistons improve less friction for better performance.
The compact and lightweight crankshaft that is balanced by tungsten counterweights, will ensure that the power you desire is transformed efficiently. Not to mention, the mass centralization (and reduction) improvement.
Hold on my friend, it’s a little bit early to be impressed, keep on reading……

The Clutch & Transmission.
The 2017 Ducati 1299 Superleggera is loaded with a new anti-hopping clutch system, to provide you with the best riding experience and stability during hard braking. The motorcycle has a 6-speed transmission system, along with Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) that works both ways (up & down).
Ducati 1299 Superleggera Exhaust.
The manufacturers loaded up this masterpiece with a non-street-legal racing exhaust system just for you. This kit will provide you with an additional 5 HP and will shred 4 Kgs from the overall weight.
1299 Superleggera Chassis: Full Carbon Fibre?
Yes, that’s true. Ducati didn’t just make sure to introduce you with a powerful 2-stroke engine that drags a bulky steel cage. The Ducati team created an outstanding “carbon fiber everything “ model for the 2017 Ducati 1299 Superleggera. Frame, Subframe, Wheels, Swingarm, and even fairings.

This gives the Superleggera a very remarkable power-to-weight ration that we are sure that it will draw a big smile on your face.
More Weight Reduction?
Well, anything that can’t be made from carbon fiber, Ducati made sure to make it either aluminum or titanium. That includes bolts and gas tank. Did we mention that the carbon fiber swingarm has been subjected to Aerospace tests?
The Carbon fiber front & rear wheels have contributed in reducing 1.4 Kgs, compared to the traditional (well, not very traditional) Aluminium Wheels. They have been subjected to the same swingarm Aerospace tests too. Improved Inertia will serve you good too, due to this upgrade.
All of these weight reduction efforts resulted in a 156 KG (Dry weight) motorcycle that you will definitely enjoy riding.
Suspension & Brakes.
A fully adjustable 43mm Öhlins FL 936 fork with TiN treatment has been installed as a front fork and a rear fully adjustable single Öhlins TTX36 shock with a titanium spring.
As for the brakes, the front ones are radially mounted Brembo Monobloc Evo M50 4-piston calipers that work on a 2 x 330 mm semi-floating discs. The rear discs are 245 mm and both brakes have ABS cornering for your convenience.
Electronics & Technology.
The 2017 Ducati 1299 Superleggera is loaded with nearly every electronic assistant program you can think about; Riding Modes, Power Modes, ABS Cornering, Rapid Setting and much more.
